Vaishali Nigam Sinha, co-founder of ReNew, a renewable energy firm, points out the high demand for green skills in areas like eco-friendly construction and renewable energy design. She emphasizes how these skills are crucial for achieving clean energy transitions worldwide.
LinkedIn’s Global Green Skills Report backs this up, showing a consistent increase in green talent on the platform. This growth is mirrored in job postings actively seeking green skills, offering encouragement to those pursuing green employment.
The gig economy is also contributing significantly to the rise of green jobs, with more gig workers entering sustainable sectors. Companies like Vedanta Aluminium and DHL Express are leading the way in sustainability efforts, aiming to reduce their carbon footprint and provide green training to their staff.
Similarly, Godrej & Boyce are investing in training their workforce to meet the demands of green job roles. This commitment to sustainability is evident across various industries, with sectors such as healthcare, banking, and consulting actively hiring for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roles.
The most in-demand green skills include renewable energy, environmental health safety (EHS), solar energy, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability.
